Activision Blizzard, Inc. is an American video game holding company based in Santa Monica, California1. It was founded in July 2008 through the merger of Activision, Inc. and Vivendi Games1. The company is known for creating some of the most epic interactive gaming and entertainment experiences. Their platforms immerse players in new, unimagined worlds and offer countless ways to play within them.

Activision Blizzard owns several major franchises including Call of Duty, Crash Bandicoot, Guitar Hero, Tony Hawk’s, Spyro, Skylanders, World of Warcraft, StarCraft, Diablo, Hearthstone, Heroes of the Storm, Overwatch, and Candy Crush Saga. The company has also been involved in esports initiatives around several of its games.

As of 2023, Activision Blizzard is a subsidiary of Microsoft Gaming. Despite its success in the gaming industry, the company has faced multiple controversies including allegations of infringed patents and unpaid royalties. In 2021, it was sued by the California Department of Fair Employment and Housing on allegations of sexual harassment and employee discrimination.
