In terms of paragraph 3.59(b) of the JSE Limited (“JSE”) Listings Requirements, and further to the announcement released on the Stock Exchange News Service of the JSE on 4 December 2024, shareholders are hereby informed that Exxaro’s Chief Executive Officer (“CEO”), Dr Nombasa Tsengwa, has resigned from the company in her capacity as the CEO and board member of Exxaro with immediate effect.
The Finance Director, Mr Pieter Adriaan Koppeschaar (“Riaan”), was appointed as Acting CEO at the time of Dr Tsengwa’s suspension in December 2024 and will remain in this position until a permanent CEO has been appointed.
Chairman of Exxaro, Geoffrey Qhena, said: “We have accepted the resignation of Dr Tsengwa. The board thanks Dr Tsengwa for her years of service and wishes her all the best in her future endeavours. We will initiate an expedited process to identify and appoint a new CEO who will continue to drive growth, excellence, and innovation within our business. The Board and management team will continue to drive Exxaro’s strategy of maximising the value of its current assets and continuing its measured and responsible transition into a diversified minerals and renewable energy solutions business that will thrive in a low-carbon future”.
