She was Professor in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, Division Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility at Meharry Medical College, Nashville TN.
She is the recipient of the 2011 American Medical Women’s Association Elizabeth Blackwell Award, one of the highest honors for contributions to women’s health. Dr. Montgomery has been an Independent Director of UnitedHealth Group Incorporated since August 04, 2017. She has been a Director of The Nemours Foundation since October 24, 2016. She served as a Member of Scientific Advisory Board at Repros Therapeutics Inc. since June 2009. Dr. Montgomery has been recognized as a National Coalition of 100 Black Women – Women of Impact, YWCA – Women of Achievement in Atlanta and in Nashville and recipient of the American Medical Women’s Association Elizabeth Blackwell Medal and Working Mother Media Multicultural Women’s Legacy Award. She is a Member of the National Academy of Medicine and a renowned infertility specialist and researcher. She completed her residency in obstetrics and gynecology at Emory University School of Medicine and her fellowship in reproductive endocrinologist and infertility at Hutzel Hospital in Detroit, Michigan. She also completed the Executive Leadership in Academic Medicine program at Drexel University College of Medicine, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania
