Tshifhiwa Ramuthaga was appointed Group CIO of Barloworld in December 2020. She has more than twenty years of experience working in the IT industry including sixteen years as a CIO. Tshifhiwa has worked as CIO for the SA Government in the Security Cluster. She was also CIO for Barloworld Logistics and Supply Chain and CDO for Barloworld Automotive and Logistics. In 2014, she was named Visionary CIO of the Year by the Institute of Information Technology Professionals SA (IITPSA). Tshifhiwa has an MBA and an MSc. in IT from the University of Pretoria.Tshifhiwa Ramuthaga has 28 years’ experience in information technology (IT), 19 of which were as chief information officer (CIO) in the public and private sectors, specialising in leading organisational transformation through technology. Most recently, she held senior positions at Barloworld between July 2017 and December 2023, including group CIO. She is currently chief executive officer and founder of TGR Global Consultants, a pioneering consulting firm dedicated to empowering organisations to unlock the strategic potential of their IT functions.
