Mr. Thomas Gus Maheras, also known as Tom, is Independent Chairman of Discover Bank. He is the Partner and Portfolio Manager since 2019 at Iron Park Capital Partners, LP. He has been Chairman of Discover Financial Services since May 4, 2020. Mr. Maheras serves as the Managing Partner and Chief Investment Officer at Tegean Capital Management, LLC. He founded Tegean Capital Management in 2008 and a partner and Chief Investment Officer of Iron Park Capital Management, LLC since 2019, two investment advisory firms based in New York. Previously, Mr. Maheras served as Co-Chief Executive Officer of Markets & Banking and Co-Chairman of Citigroup, Inc. from May 21, 2007 to 2008 and was responsible for the fixed income, equities, emerging markets sales and trading and municipals businesses. He served for 23 years at Citigroup, Inc. where he also headed the mortgage-backed securities business and the high yield trading desk. Mr. Maheras has an extensive banking and capital markets experience. He has been an Independent Director at Discover Financial Services since September 15, 2008. He also has valuable leadership experience and knowledge of operations and the day-to-day management of a global financial services organization. Mr. Maheras’s financial background and banking and financial services experience includes a knowledge of financial statements, corporate finance, accounting and capital markets. He serves as a Trustee of Carnegie Hall and Member of the Business Advisory Council of the Mendoza College of Business. He serves as a Trustee of University of Notre Dame
