Ms. Sylvie Vachon, CGA, has been an Independent Chairwoman at Richelieu Hardware Ltd. since April 10, 2020. She had been the Chief Executive Officer and President of Montreal Port Authority since July 2009 until December 31, 2020. Ms. Vachon serves as a Controller of Cautivo Peru Inc. (formerly known as Plexmar Resources Inc.). She is Chair of the Board of Directors of Cargo Montreal. She served as Controller of Manicouagan Minerals Inc. Having joined the MPA in 1990 as Head of Human Resources, Ms. Vachon held various other functions before being promoted CEO. She served as an Interim Chief Executive Officer and Interim President of Montreal Port Authority from March 2009 to July 2009. Ms. Vachon further acts as President of CargoM, the Logistic and Transportation Metropolitan Cluster of Montreal, President of the Board of le Cercle des présidents du Québec. She served as a member of the Boards of Directors of Alliance Verte and of the Association of Canadian Port Authorities.
Ms. Vachon is also a member of the Board of Directors of SODES. She also sits on the board of Green Marine. She served as Vice President of Administration & Human Resources at Montreal Port Authority since 1997 until 2009. Ms. Vachon has been an Independent Director of Cascades Inc. since May 9, 2013. In 2016, she was awarded the Medal of Honour of the National Assembly of Québec. In 2014, she received the St. Lawrence Award. She became a member of the Conseil consultatif sur l’économie et l’innovation of the Québec Government. She is also a governor member of the Quebec Business Council and the Quebec Business Council on the Environment. She serves as an Independent Director at Richelieu Hardware Ltd. since April 2, 2015. Ms. Vachon joined the Richelieu Hardware Ltd. on April 02, 2015. She holds the degree of bachelor’s in administration, majoring in Human Resources Management from the University of Sherbrooke (Québec).
