Dr. Stephen K. Klasko, also known as Steve, M.D., M.B.A., is the Chief Medical Advisor of Vale Health, Inc. He serves as a Member of the Board of Advisors of Wellvii Inc. He serves as the Director and Member of the Advisory Board of InSite Health, Inc. Dr. Stephen has been the Chair of the Medical Advisory Board at 3D Systems Corporation since May 16, 2022. He is Chief Medical Officer & Operating Partner at Abundant Venture Partners. After he retired from Jefferson Health, Dr. Klasko assumed the role of Executive in Residence for General Catalyst where he is putting into action the “health assurance” model based on the book he wrote with Hemant Taneja, managing partner of GC, entitled “UnHealthcare: A Manifesto for Health Assurance.” He served as Director at Nuvo Group Ltd. since August 31, 2020, and served as a member of the Strategic Advisory Board since September 2019. He serves as the Chief Executive Officer of the University of South Florida Physicians Group. He launched a unique medical education program at the University of South Florida, called SELECT (Scholarly Excellence, Leadership Education, Collaborative Training), to choose and mentor medical students based on emotional intelligence and leadership potential. He served as an Independent Director of Health Assurance Acquisition Corp until October 28, 2021. He served as an Independent Director at Mindstrong, Inc. from January 2019 until December 2021. He has been Senior Vice President for Health Sciences and Dean of Morsani College of Medicine at the University of South Florida (USF) from August 2004 till 2013.

He is responsible for the administrative, financial, strategic, clinical and educational activities of the university’s colleges of medicine, nursing, public health and physical therapy. From September 2004 to June 2013, he served as Dean of the College of Medicine at the University of South Florida. Since June 2013, he has been the President and Chief Executive officer of Thomas Jefferson University and Jefferson Health. Before Jefferson Health, he served as dean of two medical colleges and leader of three academic health centres. He served as a Dean of the Drexel University College of Medicine in Philadelphia and Lehigh Valley Hospital in Bethlehem, Pa. from June 2000 to July 2004. He was a Vice President of USF Health from 2004 to 2009. He has been a Director of Fifth Third Bank, National Association (“Bank”) (Former Name: Fifth Third Bank) since September 2012.

He has been Independent Director at Teleflex Incorporated since May 2008 and has served as its Lead Director since May 05, 2023. He was a Member of the Board of Advisors at InnovAccer Inc. He served as a Trustee of Lehigh Valley Health Network, Inc. since November 2009. He has led one of the U.S.’s fastest-growing academic health institutions based on his vision of the future of higher education. He published UnHealthcare as well as the textbook, Patient No Longer: Why Healthcare Must Deliver the Care Experience that Consumers Want and Expect. In 2020, he was named the first Distinguished Fellow of the World Economic Forum. He earned a place on Modern Healthcare’s list as 2 of the “100 Most Influential People in Healthcare” and “10 Most Influential Physician Executives,” “100 Most Influential Individuals,” Fast Company’s Most Creative People in Business, Ernst & Young’s “Entrepreneur of the Year” in 2018 and Becker’s Hospital Review’s “100 Great Leaders in Healthcare.” In 2018, Fast Company Magazine named him as the only healthcare executive among the “25 Most Creative People in Business”. He is the author of “Bless This Mess: A Picture Primer for the Future of Healthcare” and “WE Can Fix Healthcare, The Future”. He focuses on managing the health of populations in southeastern Pennsylvania and southern New Jersey. He holds an MD from Hahnemann University and an MBA from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania, both in Philadelphia. He also earned a BS Degree in Chemistry and Biology from Lehigh University. He developed research about selecting and educating physicians to be leaders of change.
