Stefan Asenkerschbaumer was born in Burghausen, Germany, in 1956. He studied at the University of Erlangen-Nuremberg, Germany, where he obtained degrees in business education in 1982 and in business administration in 1984 as well as his doctorate (Dr. rer. pol.) on the subject of operational innovation management in 1986. As of 2010 he was member of the board of management of Robert Bosch GmbH and from 2013 to 2021 he was deputy chairman of the board of management. Asenkerschbaumer has been managing partner of Robert Bosch Industrietreuhand KG (RBIK) and chairman of the supervisory board of Robert Bosch GmbH since January 2022.

Asenkerschbaumer has been a member of the BASF Supervisory Board since April 29, 2022, and his mandate terminates upon conclusion of the Annual Shareholders’ Meeting 2024.
