Simon Parker joined the Executive Committee in February 2023.
Simon has 33 years of experience in multi-national businesses and more than 25 years Coatings experience, having been responsible for many business transformation and restructurings in the operating units of AkzoNobel.
Early career positions at 3M Corporation in marketing and commercial roles were followed by 8 years in a major operating unit of ChevronTexaco. On joining AkzoNobel in 1997 Simon was Key Account Manager for International Paint Marine brand in London.
In 2005 he was made Director of the Marine Business Unit for Europe, Middle East and Africa whilst also being responsible for Global Key Accounts. Following a move to the Netherlands in 2010, Simon went on to be Managing Director of the Vehicle Refinishes, Powder Coatings and Industrial Coatings businesses.
In April 2022 he took over as Business Unit Director for Marine, Protective and Yacht Coatings. Simon holds a Bachelor of Science Honors Degree in Management and Business Administration from Aston Business School and was jointly awarded the Queens Award for Enterprise and Innovation.
