Mr. Williams joined the Marathon Oil board of directors in 2023. He currently serves as the executive chairman of Covia Holdings LLC, a position he has held since January 2022. He joined Covia in December 2020 as chairman and interim CEO. Before Covia, Mr. Williams served as chief executive officer of Nexeo Plastics Holdings, Inc., from April 2019 until June 2020 and from September 2012 to March 2019 as executive vice president of Nexeo Solutions, Inc. Prior to joining Nexeo Solutions, from 2007 to 2012 he served as president of Momentive Global Sealants and Momentive Performance Materials, Inc. Earlier in his career, Mr. Williams spent 22 years in industrial sales and manufacturing leadership roles at General Electric Company and led businesses globally in the Americas, Europe and Asia across a broad sector of markets. Mr. Williams serves on the boards of directors of Kirby Corporation and Tetra Technologies, Inc.
He holds a bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from Purdue University and an MBA from the Haas School of Business at the University of California, Berkeley.
