René Pöhls, born on October 27, 1970 in Halle (Saale), Germany, is a trained electrician (A‑Level), master electrician (power engineering) and graduate electrical engineer (FH).

René began his professional career in 1987 as an apprentice at envia Mitteldeutsche Energie AG (enviaM) and its legal predecessors. Between 1990 and 2008, he held various positions in the field of protection technology. Since 1998 he has been a member of the works council and is currently chairman of the joint general works council and the joint works council Halle / Kabelsketal of enviaM, MITGAS, Mitteldeutsche Netzgesellschaft Strom mbH and Mitteldeutsche Netzgesellschaft Gas mbH. He has also been Chairman of the Group Works Council of the enviaM Group since 2010. He is Chairman of the SE Works Council as well as the Deputy Chairman of the Group Works Council of E.ON SE.

Member of the Supervisory Board of E.ON SE since September 2019; term will end at the close of the Annual General Meeting in 2028.
