Rainer retired as Executive Vice President of Tenneco Inc., a producer of automotive emission control and ride control products and systems, in 2023. He assumed this role in 2018 when Tenneco acquired FederalMogul LLC, an automotive and industrial equipment supplier. Rainer has also served as President of Federal-Mogul Powertrain since 2018, after having served as its Chief Executive Officer since 2012. Before the acquisition of Federal-Mogul, he also served as its co-chief Executive Officer and as a Director since 2012, and as co-chairman of the Board since 2015. Before joining Federal-Mogul, he was a member of the German Military.
