He graduated summa cum laude in Business Administration from Bocconi University. He spent his fourth year of high school in the United States (Charter Oak High School) and pursued further studies at the University of Texas at Austin and the University of California at Berkeley during his university years.
From 2001 to 2004, he began his professional career as a financial analyst at Mediobanca. He then served as his assistant (and, one year later, as CEO) to Prof. Giuseppe Rotelli at Gruppo San Donato.
From 2005 to 2017, he was the CEO of Gruppo San Donato, the leading Italian hospital operator. He also served as CEO of Ospedale San Raffaele in Milan from May 2012 (when it became part of Gruppo San Donato) until September 2017, leading its financial recovery and relaunch.
From 2015 to 2017, he was also the CEO of UniversitĂ Vita-Salute San Raffaele, and from 2016 to 2019, he was a Board Member of Italgas, where he served as Chairman of the Sustainability Committee and was a member of the Control, Risk, and Related Party Transactions Committee.
From 2020 to 2022, he was Chairman of Snam, Europe’s leading natural gas transportation and storage operator.
In 2018, Nicola Bedin founded Lifenet Healthcare, where he serves as CEO. The group operates in the healthcare sector, managing hospitals, eye clinics, and outpatient diagnostic centers across Lombardy, Piedmont, Lazio, Tuscany, and Emilia-Romagna. He is currently an Adjunct Professor of Applied Economics at the University of Pavia.
