Mike McNamara has served on the Workday board of directors since 2011. Mike brings to the board extensive leadership and experience managing international operations. As the former chief executive officer (CEO) of a large global company, Mike provides Workday with a management perspective on business and strategic decisions. Mike is co-founder and chief executive officer of Samara Living Inc., a company specializing in factory-built housing and additional dwelling units—a position he has held since May 2022. Mike served as a venture partner at Eclipse Ventures, a Silicon Valley venture capital firm, from January 2019 to March 2022, and as CEO of Flex Ltd. from 2006 until 2018. From 1994 until his appointment as CEO, Mike held a variety of senior roles at Flex, including chief operating officer, president of Americas operations, and vice president of North American operations. In addition, Mike served as a director at Flex from 2005 to December 2018. Mike has been an MIT Sloan School of Management visiting committee member since 2018. Mike has served as a director of Carrier Global Corporation since April 2020, and is also a director of several private companies. Mike previously served as a director at Slack Technologies Inc. from December 2019 to July 2021, as a director at Delphi Automotive LLP from 2009 to 2013, as an advisory board member at Tsinghua University School of Economics and Management from 2006 to 2019, and as a board member at MEMC Electronic Materials from 2008 to 2012. Mike received a bachelor of science degree in industrial management from the University of Cincinnati and an MBA from Santa Clara University.
