About

As a mechanical engineer, he began his professional life in the IRI Group before spending several years in management consultancy.

With the Montedison Group since 1984, he was Director of Strategy and Development for Standa from 1985 to 1988 and General Manager of the Standa Group from 1989 to 1992.

He joined Mondadori in 1992 as Director of Editorial Holdings and Business Development. In 1994 he became CEO of the Elemond Group. In 1997 he was appointed CEO of Arnoldo Mondadori Editore and since 2003 he has also been the Vice-chairperson.

He left Mondadori in March 2013 and took on the role of Vice-chairperson of Fininvest S.p.A., which he left in June 2014, when he was elected Chairperson of the FIEG (Italian Federation of Newspaper Publishers).

From April 2015 to August 2016 he was Chairperson of RCS MediaGroup S.p.A.

In June 2018, he left the FIEG chair at the end of his second term, as provided for by the Federation’s Bylaw.

Other relevant current appointments:
• Independent Board Member of Mediobanca S.p.A., for which he is also Chairperson of the Appointments Committee.
