In 2017, Mark Schneider assumed the role of Chief Executive Officer at Nestlé S.A. His extensive career includes over a decade at the Fresenius Group in Bad Homburg, Germany, where he served as CEO from 2003 to 2016, and as Chief Financial Officer of Fresenius Medical Care from 2001 to 2003. Prior to his tenure at Fresenius, he held various senior executive positions at the Haniel Group from 1989 to 2001, including Chief Financial Officer of Gehe UK plc, Vice President of Business Development in North America, and roles at Halfen GmbH and the Haniel Group Executive Board.

His academic credentials are equally impressive. He earned his MBA with distinction from Harvard Business School in 1993, and holds both a Ph.D. (Dr. oec.) obtained in 1992, and a Lic. oec. degree in Finance and Accounting obtained in 1988, both from the University of St. Gallen.

He is a Member of the Board of Roche Holding Ltd, the Consumer Goods Forum, and holds memberships with the Board of Trustees and International Business Council of the World Economic Forum (WEF). He is also a member of the European Round Table for Industry (ERT), the Advisory Board of the Tsinghua University School of Economics and Management (SEM), and the IMD Foundation Board. Additionally, he served as a Non-executive Director of E.I. du Pont de Nemours and Company from 2014 to 2017.

His expertise and leadership have been featured in numerous media outlets. Notably, he has addressed issues related to plastics in LinkedIn on April 19, 2024, discussed the turbulent economic environment on Bloomberg’s “The Pulse With Francine Lacqua” on December 13, 2023, and commented on rising prices and full-year results on CNBC’s “Squawk Box Europe” on February 17, 2022.
