Madeline S. Bell has served as a director since February 2016. Ms. Bell is the President and CEO of Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP), which is one of the top-ranked children’s hospitals in the United States. Prior to being promoted to President and CEO in 2015, Ms. Bell served as CHOP’s Chief Operating Officer for eight years. Ms. Bell began her career as a pediatrics nurse and moved from a variety of different nursing roles into hospital administration in 1989, and holds a Master of Science degree in organizational dynamics. Ms. Bell serves on the boards of the Leonard Davis Institute of Health Economics and Solutions for Patient Safety, and also serves on the Greater Philadelphia Chamber of Commerce Executive Committee and is a member of the Chamber’s CEO Council for Growth. She is the former Chair of the Federal Reserve Bank of Philadelphia’s Board of Directors and is a fellow of The College of Physicians of Philadelphia and a member of The Economic Club of New York.
