Lim Hwee Hua held significant roles in Singaporean politics between 2009 and 2011.She served as the Minister in the Prime Minister’s Office, the Second Minister for Finance, and the Second Minister for Transport concurrently.As an MP, she represented both the Serangoon division of Aljunied GRC (2006–2011) and the Marine Parade GRC (1996–2006).
Additionally, she contributed as the Deputy Speaker of Parliament and the Senior Minister of State for Finance and Transport.Lim completed her A levels at Raffles Institution. She graduated from Girton College, University of Cambridge in 1981, majoring in mathematics and engineering under the Overseas Merit Scholarship.
Later, she earned a Master of Business Administration (MBA) in finance from the Anderson School of Management, University of California, Los Angeles in 1989.Post-Political Career:After retiring from politics, Lim remained active:Engaged in private equity with Tembusu Partners and Kohlberg Kravis Roberts.Contributed to financial services and global manufacturing, including her involvement with Nippon Paint.She also served on various boards and lectured at the Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy
