Lara is the Chair of Deloitte US, leading the Board of Directors in governing all aspects of the US Firm, which consists of 170,000 professionals and revenue of $30 billion. Lara is a member of Deloitte’s Global Board of Directors and Chair of the Deloitte Foundation. Lara stepped into this role after serving as the chief executive officer of the Deloitte US Audit & Assurance business for four years. During her tenure, she was instrumental in the launch of Making Accounting Diverse and Equitable (MADE), Deloitte’s $75 million commitment to fueling greater racial and ethnic diversity in the accounting profession.
Lara has served in a number of leadership roles during her career at Deloitte, while also maintaining significant client responsibilities for the firm’s largest and most complex clients. Lara’s leadership philosophy is anchored in our Connect for Impact strategy – focused on our clients, people, firm and society. Lara frequently speaks on topics focused on advancing the profession including modern leadership traits, diversity, equity, and inclusion, the future of work, and tech disruption.
Lara is a licensed certified public accountant in New York and New Jersey and is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in economics from the University at Albany, State University of New York, and an MBA from Baruch College. In her free time, Lara enjoys traveling, watching sports, and playing softball as well as spending time with her husband, Gary; their children, Nicholas (19) and Samantha (17); and their broader community of family and friends.
