About
Kurt Bock was born in Rahden, Eastern Westphalia, Germany in 1958. He studied business administration in MĂĽnster and Cologne and at Pennsylvania State University. In 1985, he earned his doctorate (Dr. rer. pol.) from the University of Bonn. In the same year, he began his career at BASF in finance. From 2003 to 2011, he was Chief Financial Officer of BASF SE and, since 2007, additionally Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of BASF Corporation in the United States. He was Chairman of the Board of Executive Directors of BASF from 2011 to 2018.
Bock has been a member of the BASF Supervisory Board since June 18, 2020, and his mandate terminates upon conclusion of the Annual Shareholders’ Meeting in 2024.
