“Ken Cornew has been a member of the Board of Directors for Steel Dynamics, Inc. since May of 2016. He became Chairman of the Compensation Committee in May of 2022 and Lead Independent Director in May of 2023. Steel Dynamics is one of the largest and most diversified domestic steel producers and metals recyclers in the United States, with an estimated steelmaking and coating capacity of approximately 13 million tons, and facilities located throughout the United States and in Mexico.
Ken retired as the president and CEO of Exelon Generation, with 14,000 employees, 32,000 megawatts of power generation capacity and more than 2 million customers. With revenues of more than $20 billion and total assets of nearly $48 billion, Exelon Generation includes both the nation’s lowest-carbon fleet of power plants and the largest competitive energy supplier. Together, they are America’s clean energy leader, playing a key role in addressing the impacts of climate change and the transition to a clean, sustainable future. Cornew’s leadership includes the well-run fleet of nuclear, wind, solar, landfill gas, hydroelectric, natural gas and oil facilities in 19 states that power more than 20 million homes and businesses while preserving the environment, providing good-paying jobs and powering local economies across the country. His oversight also includes Constellation, the nation’s No. 1 competitive retail and commodities business, which provides electricity, natural gas and other energy-related products and services to 2 million residential, public sector and business customers nationwide, including more than two-thirds of the Fortune 100.
