Mr. John Peter Suarez, also known as JP, BA (Hons), J.D. serves as a Non-Executive Director since February 27, 2019. Mr Suarez was previously a Walmart-appointed nominee on the Board until his resignation on 26 May 2017. He joined Wal-Mart in January 2004 as Vice President and General Counsel for its SAM’S CLUB division, where his responsibilities included ensuring compliance with regulatory obligations such as OSHA, environmental and food safety issues and managing operations, employment, merchandise and marketing issues. Before joining Walmart, he served as the Assistant Administrator for Enforcement and Compliance at the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, responsible for directing the nation’s environmental enforcement efforts. He also served as a Federal and State Prosecutor and served as the Chief Enforcement Officer for New Jersey’s gaming industry. He has been a Non-Independent Non-Executive Director of Massmart Holdings Limited from June 20, 2011, until May 26, 2017. He was an Articles Editor for the law review at the University of Pennsylvania Law School.
