With a Bachelor’s degree in Economics and Business from the La Sapienza University in Rome, he has been active in the field of corporate finance since 1977, initially in the Bastogi group, where he was Assistant to the Managing Director (1977-1980), then in the Euromobiliare group (1980-1991), where, in the latter years, he became Board Member and Deputy Managing Director of Euromobiliare S,p.A., Board Member of Banca Euromobiliare S.p.A and of other companies in the group, and finally Managing Director of Euromobiliare Montagu S.p.A, an investment and merchant bank in the group.
In January 1992 he founded TIP, Tamburi Investment Partners S.p.A., of which he is currently Chairperson and CEO. TIP is an independent investment/merchant bank focused on the development of excellent medium-sized Italian companies, listed on the STAR segment of the Italian Stock Exchange. Over the years TIP made investments – directly and through club deals – of approximately 3 billion euros.
He has previously taken on institutional roles, as member of the Commission for law 35/92 established by the Budget Ministry (Cappugi Commission for privatizations) and member of the Privatization Advisory Board of Milan city council.
He has also carried out academic roles, as an adjunct professor of Corporate Finance at the LIUC – University of Castellanza (1992-2004) and adjunct professor of Extraordinary Financial Transactions on the master’s course at LUISS (Free University of Social Studies in Rome) between 1993 and 2003.
He is author and co-author of several publications, in particular on privatization.
