Geraldine is Lead independent director of Exxaro and non-executive director of Standard Bank Group and Standard Bank South Africa. Chancellor of the Nelson Mandela University, chair of the Advisory Council of the Mapungubwe Institute for Strategic Reflection (MISTRA) and chair of the Committee of Experts on Public Administration (CEPA) of the United Nations Economic and Social Council. She became a member of Parliament in 1994 and she served until 25 September 2008.
