About
I have been a full time director since my retirement from Avaya in November 2008.
I spent the first six years of my career at The Boston Consulting Group as a consultant, then as a project manager, examining a wide variety of business problems across a broad range of industries, both in the U.S. and internationally. I then moved to General Electric Company, initially in a staff role at headquarters, then as a P&L manager in two different GE businesses: Room Air Conditioning and Consumer Electronics.
I spent the bulk of the next 26 years as a senior P&L manager in 5 different industries: consumer appliances; data communications; laboratory equipment and supplies; semiconductor distribution; and telecommunications. My P&L experience ranges from being a CEO of a venture capital backed technology start-up with $7MM in revenue (Proteon, Inc.) to the CEO of a $13B publicly traded Fortune 200 company (Arrow Electronics, Inc.).
I have led both product businesses (GE; Proteon; Inglis Ltd., Whirlpool Corporation’s Canadian subsidiary; and Fisher Products Group, one of the three groups at Fisher Scientific) and service businesses (Arrow Electronics and Avaya Global Services, one of Avaya’s two businesses). Most of these businesses were global in scope.
