Since 2023 Eva-Lotta Sjöstedt has been non-executive director of Alliance Pharma plc, Chippenham, United Kingdom, a medical and health company with global reach. At Alliance Pharma, she also chairs the ESG committee. In 2020, she was appointed as a non-executive member of the Board of Directors and member of the people and compensation committee of ELISA Corporation, Helsinki, Finland, a company specialising in digital services, cloud-based IT services and telecom. Further, Eva-Lotta Sjöstedt was a non-executive director of the real estate investment company Tritax Eurobox plc, London, United Kingdom, from 2019 to 2024, where she, among other roles, chaired the ESG committee. From 2016 to 2018, Eva-Lotta Sjöstedt was CEO of Georg Jensen, the Danish luxury jewellery and home design brand. From 2014 to 2015, she was CEO of the German department store chain Karstadt. Prior to this, she worked for the Swedish home furnishing group IKEA, establishing the business in Japan before becoming CEO of IKEA Netherlands and then Deputy Global Retail Manager. In this role she was responsible for IKEA’s global multi-channel strategy and the implementation of its on and offline experiences throughout the entire global value chain. Eva-Lotta Sjöstedt began her career as a fashion designer with Wellglow Manufacturing Company Ltd. in 1991, with base in both Hong Kong and Sweden, followed by some years with entrepreneurial activities.
Eva-Lotta Sjöstedt holds a degree in design and fashion from the Art and Design School in Stockholm, Sweden. In addition, she graduated with a degree in economics & marketing from the IHM Business School in Malmö, Sweden, in 2003. Further professional background was later gained through various courses and programs, one being an Executive Leadership Program at the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania, USA.
Due to her professional career path Eva-Lotta Sjöstedt gained special expertise in the sectors trade, digitalization/technology as well as in the areas marketing and logistics/supply chain. She has specialised knowledge in the field of sustainability, also due to her role on the ESG committee of Alliance Pharma and formerly of Tritax Eurobox. Her international experience is oriented in particular on the United States, Europe and Asia.0
