Prior to this role, he served as chief information officer, directing the development of Mastercard products and services. Prior to joining Mastercard in 2005, Mr. McLaughlin was group vice president, products and strategy at Metavante (now FIS) which he joined in 2002 through acquisition of Paytrust, an online payments company of which he was co-founder and CEO. Prior to co-founding Paytrust, Mr. McLaughlin was the executive vice president of product and marketing at LogicWorks, Inc., a data modeling software company. He is a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania, Wharton School of Business and a founding member of the Harvard Kennedy School’s Council on the Responsible Use of Artificial Intelligence. Mr. McLaughlin was awarded the Forbes CIO Innovation Award for 2019, and named to the CIO Magazine Hall of Fame in 2024.
