Ms. Donna W. Hyland, CPA, has been the Chief Executive Officer and President at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta, Inc., since June 2008. Ms. Hyland has overseen monumental growth and achievement at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta since 1998. She has several years of business leadership and financial experience and serves on the board of Cousins Properties, Inc. She served as the Chief Financial Officer and Chief Operating Officer for Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta, Inc. from February 1998 to December 2002 and from January 2003 to May 2008 respectively. She was an instrumental player during the 1998 merger of Egleston Children’s Health Care System and Scottish Rite Children’s Medical Center which led to the formation of what is one of the top pediatric hospitals in the country. She also helped transition Hughes Spalding Children’s Hospital into the Children’s family in 2006. In 2007, realizing that Georgia’s pediatric population was significantly growing, Ms. Hyland led the development of the Children’s Vision 2018 Strategy, which defines the organization’s journey for the next few years to achieve clinical excellence by focusing on three areas: research, teaching and wellness. Before joining Children’s, she was employed by American Medical International and The Home Depot. She has been an Independent Director of Genuine Parts Company since November 16, 2015. Ms. Hyland has been a Board Member of the Georgia Public Telecommunications Commission since May 2013. Ms. Hyland’s dedication to the community extends outside of Children’s, with her serving as a Board member of the Metro Atlanta Chamber of Commerce, the Metro Atlanta YMCA and the Georgia Partnership for Excellence in Education. On a national level, Ms. Hyland also serves as a Trustee on the Board for the Ronald McDonald House Charities. She serves on the boards of the Georgia Tech Advisory Board, University of Georgia Board of Visitors, SunTrust Bank Atlanta Advisory Board and Stone Mountain Industrial Park Board. Ms. Hyland has been a Director of Cousins Properties Incorporated since May 6, 2014. She has also chaired a Task Force within the Commission for a New Georgia and previously served on the Health Strategies Council. For all her work in pediatric healthcare, she was named one of the 2007 Women of Excellence by Business to Business magazine. Ms. Hyland has been recognized as Georgia Trend magazine’s Most Respected Business Leader and 100 Most Influential Georgians, Atlanta Business Chronicle’s 100 Most Influential Atlantans and one of Business to Business magazine’s Women of Excellence. Ms. Hyland attended the University of Kentucky and Western Kentucky University and is a Certified Public Accountant.
