Cora is a chartered accountant with extensive board experience. She is a non-executive director of Capitec Bank Holdings Ltd, Redefine Properties Ltd, Curro Holdings Ltd, Stormers (Pty) Ltd and Sphere Private Equity (Pty) Ltd. She serves on the investment committees of 27four Black Business Growth Fund. Cora previously served as managing director of Sanlam Investment Management and as CEO of Sanlam Private Equity. Following her departure from Sanlam, she pursued a career as a professional nonexecutive director.
Cora has a strong financial and investment background through various leadership roles at Sanlam, including that of CEO of the Institutional Business at Sanlam Investment Holdings, managing director of Sanlam Investment Management and CEO of Sanlam Private Equity. Prior to this, she worked for Tiso Private Equity and Ethos Private Equity
Cora is a Non-executive Director of Sphere Holdings Board and Chairperson of the Sphere Holdings Remuneration Committee (REMCO). Previously, she also served on the Boards of Sanlam Investment Holdings and the South African Venture Capital and Private Equity Association (SAVCA), where she was elected as Chairperson.Cora’s around two-decade career started out at Ethos Private Equity, after which she joined Sanlam, where she held numerous senior executive positions over the years. Most recently, she was the Chief Executive (CE) of Sanlam Investments (SI) Institutional Business, where she was responsible for managing a portfolio of 126 institutional clients with a collective investment of R190 billion across various asset classes.Before that, she was Managing Director of Sanlam Investment Management (SIM), one of the largest asset management companies in SA, and prior to that, she was the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Sanlam Private Equity (SPE).During Cora’s tenure at Sanlam, she received several awards, including the Top Private Equity Deal Maker Award by the Association of Black Securities and Investment Professionals (ABSIP) and the Sanlam CEO’s Award.
