Christian Hirsch, born on 21 December 1959 in Bischofsheim, is a German national who has built an impressive career with Deutsche Lufthansa AG. He studied social sciences, focusing on politics and sociology, at Johann Wolfgang Goethe University in Frankfurt am Main. Hirsch began his professional journey with Lufthansa in 1986 and has been actively involved with the trade union ver.disince 2005.

Between 2014 and 2018, he served as a Works Council member for the ver.disection and was Deputy Chairman of the Works Council in Frankfurt/Main Boden from 2017 to 2018. Since 2018, he has held the position of Chairman of the General Works Council at Deutsche Lufthansa AG and became a member of the Group Works Council in 2020. Hirsch also served on the Supervisory Board of Deutsche Lufthansa AG from 2018 to 2020 and was reappointed on 29 July 2023, with his term lasting until the Annual General Meeting in 2028.

Throughout his career, Hirsch has been dedicated to employee representation and corporate governance, contributing significantly to the company’s operations and its workforce.
