Cheryl is a qualified actuary with over 30 years’ experience in the financial services industry. Cheryl was Chief Executive Officer of Saga plc’s general insurance business and, prior to that, Chief Executive Officer of Legal & General Group plc’s general insurance business. Cheryl held senior leadership roles in Legal & General’s retirement division and was responsible for setting up the US retirement business. Cheryl is currently Chair of Aviva Investors Holdings Limited and previously served as a Non-Executive Director of Aviva Life Holdings UK Limited, Aviva Life & Pensions Limited and Chair of Aviva Equity Release UK Limited, all subsidiaries in the Aviva Group. Cheryl was also Chair of the Aviva Life Holdings UK Limited Conduct and Investment Committees. Cheryl’s extensive experience of both listed and regulated financial services companies and her knowledge of the Aviva Group make her a strong addition to the Board.
