Carsten Knobel, born on 11 January 1969 in Hilden, Germany, is currently the CEO of Henkel AG & Co. KGaA. He has a solid educational background in Business Studies and Technical Chemistry from the Technical University Berlin, where he earned his Dipl.-Ingenieur between 1990 and 1995. Additionally, he completed an Executive Education Program at Harvard Business School in 2010.

Knobel began his professional career at Henkel AG & Co. KGaA in 1995 as an assistant to the Executive Director for Research and Development. From 1998 to 2012, he held various leading positions in controlling, brand management, mergers & acquisitions, and business development at Henkel. In 2012, he joined the Executive Board as CFO, responsible for Finance, Purchasing, Integrated Business Solutions, and ONE! Global Supply Chain, and served in this role until 2019. Since 2020, Knobel has been the CEO of Henkel.

Knobel has also been a member of the Supervisory Board of Deutsche Lufthansa AG since 9 January 2018, with his term elected until the Annual General Meeting in 2026. He currently holds no additional supervisory board memberships required by statutory law or comparable domestic or foreign controlling bodies of commercial enterprises.

Knobel’s career highlights his strong leadership in finance and business strategy, driving innovation and growth at Henkel and contributing to the governance of Deutsche Lufthansa AG.
