Brett is a Chartered Accountant with a Programme for Leadership Development (PLD) qualification from Harvard University. He is a seasoned executive with extensive experience primarily in the financial services and telecommunications sectors, including investment banking, capital raising, mergers and acquisitions, and providing advisory services to financial institutions and companies on recapitalisations and restructuring of loan facilities.

He is currently the Chief Restructuring Officer (CRO) for Cell C, a position he has held since 2022 where he was primarily responsible for the conclusion of the R2.5bn Recapitalisation. On completion of the project in September 2022, he was appointed as interim CEO for a short stint before returning to the CRO position in July 2023.
