Dr. Holger Benjamin Koch, born on 8 October 1976 in Cologne, is a German national and the Senior Director for Airport and Industry Charges at Deutsche Lufthansa AG. He began his educational journey studying foreign languages and music at Wagner College in New York from 1995 to 1996, then pursued Business Administration at Cologne University and the University of St. Gallen in Switzerland from 1996 to 2000. He earned his Doctorate (Dr. rer. pol.) from Cologne in 2006.

Koch began his professional career at Lufthansa Consulting GmbH from 2000 to 2006, focusing on airports, finance, and processes. Since 2006, he has held various positions at Deutsche Lufthansa AG, starting as a consultant in Capacity and Network Management in Frankfurt, then moving to Group Strategy and Shared Services from 2009. He also served as a lecturer in “Airline Business Models and Strategies” at the European Business School in Oestrich-Winkel, Germany, from 2009 to 2014.

Since 2011, Koch has taken on management responsibilities in areas including external commercial organization, global coordination, Head of Corporate and Business Services Europe, Head of Internal Control System Group, the FORward programme (enhancing the financial organization of the Lufthansa Group), and strategic projects. He has also been involved in developing and introducing a process-based organization within the Lufthansa Group. He became a member of the Speakers’ Committees of the executive employees in 2014.

On 8 May 2018, Koch was elected to the Supervisory Board of Deutsche Lufthansa AG, with his term extending until the Annual General Meeting in 2028. His extensive experience and leadership in various strategic roles within Lufthansa and his contributions to the academic field highlight his expertise and dedication to the aviation industry.
