Mr Sangqu was previously group executive of sustainability and risk at Impala Platinum.
Prior to his role at Impala Platinum, he was executive director for Glencore Xstrata South Africa, served on the Chamber of Mines’ National Development Plan Committee and held executive and non-executive roles at Kagiso Trust Investments.
Since 1 June 2015, Mr Sangqu has held the position of executive head for Anglo American in South Africa.
He currently serves as a director of Business Leadership SA, deputy chairman of NEPAD Business Foundation and is the vice president of the Minerals Council South Africa.
Among his other qualifications, Mr Sangqu completed an Advanced Management Programme (AMP) at Insead Business School.
