Alessandra Genco was born in Rome, Italy, in 1973. She obtained an MSc. in economics from LUISS Guido Carli University in Rome and an MBA from the Stanford Graduate School of Business. Between 1996 and 1999 Genco was a risk manager at Banca di Roma and from 2001 to 2006, she was vice president in the Investment Banking division of Goldman Sachs in New York City. In 2006, Genco started her career at Leonardo SpA where she was head of Investments and Portfolio Evaluation until 2014, then vice president Group Finance until 2017. Genco has been Chief Financial Officer of Leonardo SpA since 2017.
Genco has been a member of the BASF Supervisory Board since April 29, 2022, and her mandate terminates upon conclusion of the Annual Shareholders’ Meeting 2024.
